Hawaii

Remember when I used to be really good at posting on my blog... man where have those days gone! I thought I better post about our Hawaii trip even though most of the people that follow my blog are my friends on Facebook and have already seen all my pictures! But whatever!

We had so much fun relaxing and soaking up the sun.

We laid by the ocean and watched sunsets.

We went to a luau.

We Sailed the ocean blue on Cinderella.

We swam with about 14 sea turtles... yes I said 14!

We ate some yummy fresh fish.

We ate some delicious Hamburgers. (Even Hamburgers are better in Hawaii...)

We did some shopping and watched fireworks in Lahaina on the 4th of July.

We snorkeled a few times.

We did the road to Hana and hiked to some of the water falls along the way.

Boys took surfing lessons.

We hiked to a couple blow holes.

We ate about a million pineapples and a million and one Mangos!! mmmm I want some right now!

Probably my all time favorite thing was relaxing by the pool at the second condo we stayed at! It was so nice.. I could live there! I think I will one day.

I have been such a terrible blogger lately! I have a few things to catch up on... I guess we will start with Matt's birthday party. He wasn't excited at all of his birthday because he thinks birthday's are lame, but that didn't stop me from throwing a few things together! My family took him out to dinner at Brick Oven, while we were there eating Lexi and Brett and some other friends came over and decorated the house. We brought him home and he was welcomed with a nice splash of water and a shower of flour. (That was Glenn's idea!) I had ordered a PPV UFC Fight and had it recording, so we all sat around and watched the fights and had a yummy cake that my mom and I made! German Chocolate upon Matt's request. It was pretty dang good if I do say so myself! I wish I would have gotten a picture of it! All in all it was a fun filled day/night with friends and family! Here are a few pictures of the evening.

For Easter/Conference weekend Matt and I went with my mom and Sean to our condo in St. George. It was a nice relaxing weekend and all though I didn't get as much laying out time as I would have liked to, it was nice just being able to lounge around and watch Conference. We watched movies, ate our hearts out, straightened Matt's hair, Laid by the pool, hot tubbed, played games. Oh and we candled our ears... yes it was a party to say the least!

Matt and I did take a vacation down to St. George by our selves during Matt's spring break. But I was a failure and didn't take any pictures. Matt got a couple of us biking but thats it! We had a blast though! It was seriously perfect weather.. We got to lay out a couple of the days and we just hung out with friends and lounged around. Our bike ride was way fun minus the climb up to the trail and my flat tire... haha but other than that it was a blast! Well, I think that is all I have for now! Thanks for reading! :)

Lazy Day...

Last week I got to spend the day with these 2 BeAuTiFuL girls! It was so much fun just hanging around the house like old times with my best friend Sarah! Having Harley Jane there with us was just a plus! What an adorable baby!! She is so sweet and such a chill baby!... She really didn't fuss at all. She has the cutest little cheeks and a smile that just melts your heart!

It's so crazy to think that all of my close friends from Snow College all have little babies! It just seems like yesterday that we were in Ephraim causing trouble!

I hope I get to spend more time with my 2 favorite ladies Sarah and Harley... I think that a lazy day like this is required for my sanity!

Hugs and Kisses to all my girls that I don't get to see very often and their sweet little ones! Shalie and Steel, Ellie and Sophie, and Lace Face and Finley! I miss you girls more than you can comprehend! LOVE YOU ALL!!

Valentines Day...

Matt and I celebrated V-Day on Saturday. We went to dinner at Ruby River and then we went and saw the movie Valentines Day. It was super cute. Matt knows that dinner and movie is by far my favorite date night! We had fun just being together...
Thank you Matt for being the amazingly wonderful husband that you are! I have loved the past 9 month being married and growing closer together... I really got lucky to get such an amazing husband! Not only was it Valentines Day but it was our engagement anniversary as well! Matt said he thought about taking me up snow shoeing again to where he proposed but I told him the chances of me making it up that mountain again are slim unless you have another diamond waiting for me at the top! :) haha...
Matt gave me this cute Edible Flower arrangement. It was so cute, I really didn't want to eat it!

Then we spent the last 2 or 3 days in Apple Valley. Matt's grandma actually passed away while we were in St. George so we spent the last few days doing family stuff and funeral stuff. It was a rough end to a fun week!

Our First Christmas...

This Christmas was so much fun... It was our first Christmas as a Married couple and I loved every minute of it!! We spent Christmas Eve with my mom at her house/our house... We woke up around 8:30 and made breakfast and opened gifts. We were very spoiled!! Then we got ready and headed over to Matt's house for presents. Where we were spoiled some more. We hung out there pretty much all day, we got to talk to Erika on gmail video chat. It was fun to see her and the cute little baby, even though it was a little blurry! Then we headed over to my dads house to say hi before coming home to get into our comfy pj's to lounge and clean up our mess at my mom's house. (We had our Christmas with my dad last Sunday and we exchanged gifts on that day. Again.. Spoiled!) We had a pretty eventful day, it was so much fun to be with all of our family and open gifts and give our gifts. But the best present I got was a call from Mikey and a sweet Christmas letter that he wrote to me. I miss him so much but he sounds like he is doing fabulous! I'm so proud of him and I can't wait to hear his voice again on Mothers day.. Well here are a few pictures that we took yesterday. Enjoy!

I have been terrible at blogging lately, but what do you do when you have nothing exciting to blog about?! haha. Here is an update... Matt and I moved in with my mom a few weeks ago, just right before Thanksgiving. We are living in the basement and it has been great so far! :) We love having the extra money every month and it is fun being here with my mom and Sean.

We went with Matt's family to Cali again this year for Thanksgiving. It was nice to get away and be with the family. Unfortunately, all the pictures were taken on other peoples camera's and not my own... so I have none!

Just the other night I got together with a bunch of girls that I work with and had a little party! One of our favorite nurses in the world moved to Arizona... :( I do have some pictures of that night that I will post!

As for pictures of Matt and I.. haha I am no longer photo happy these days! But I suppose I should fix that! Matt is doing great, he is just finishing up his first semester of school.. He has decided that he is most likely going to become a PA so he is gearing his classes in that direction for now! Who knows, it might change..?? But I think that he would do great in that profession! Anyway, nothing else to really report on. Thanks for reading! :)

Tis' the Season!

I cant believe that it is already November... this year has FLOWN by! I'm super excited for the holidays! Alot of firsts for Matt and I, and I cant wait! We are planning on heading to Cali again this year for Thanksgiving with his family. Last year we went we had so much fun, Grandma is going to be missed this year that is for sure!

I'm really excited to decorate our place for Christmas.. Matt wont let me put a tree up until after Thanksgiving though.. So mean! haha I want to start some new traditions for Matt and I, I want to hear some of all my fellow bloggers... Let me know what your favorite traditions are and maybe Matt and I will take those up this year!

I started a work out program that my wonderful husband has set up for me and Lex. Holy smokes.. It is so nice to feel like you have worked hard! I cant wait to feel like I'm in better shape.. and to top it all off VOLLEYBALL is starting tomorrow! Holy Moses, I cant wait! I haven't played since last year! So depressing! We are playing in the Spanish Fork league as we have the past 3 years and hopefully we will do better this year than we did last year! HA!

I haven't posted anything in a really long time.. I'm a terrible blogger! But to fill you in on the happenings in the Lovelace home... We have been keeping busy. Me with work and Matt with work and school. I cant begin to tell you all how nice it is not having two jobs anymore. Doing hair at Amber's and Glenn's has been amazing!

We went camping with Matt's family a few weeks ago up Payson canyon. Matt took me on my first down hill ride. It was scary but I'M ALIVE! It was so pretty up there, I love the fall!

Becky and Steve finally tied the knot on Oct. 2nd. She looked beautiful and Steve looked alright I guess. :) It was a great day.

I can't think of anything else to post. We aren't too exciting these days. Work and school take up most of our time these days so it's nice when we can get a way for a few days. But it doesn't happen very often! Anyway, that's it for now!

The "Good Stuff"

Today I was at work (shocking I know..) and I went to Music Therapy with some of the girls at the Center. They listened to a song, The Good Stuff by Kenny Chesney, and then they were asked to write down what their "Good Stuff" was. I participated with them and thought it was a really amazing thing to just sit and list the things that make you happy... the simple pleasures in life! So.. I figured I would blog about MY GOOD STUFF!

1. Of course, number one is spending time with my cute husband.

2. Music.

3. Playing my guitar and singing... either by myself or with friends!

4. Christmas morning with my family

5. Getting my hair played with and my back tickled before falling asleep at night.

6. Giving someone a gift or doing a service for someone. Seeing how happy it makes them is priceless.

7. Diet Coke in combination with yummy Chips and Salsa! (Preferably from Joe's or Chili's)

8. Going to the movies, getting buttery popcorn and a Diet Coke with my hubby

9. Holding a baby.. better yet.. snuggling with a baby!

10. Being with my family.

11. Sitting in a good church meeting or fireside and feeling that undeniable feeling.

12. Pinching Matty's hair and kissing his head.. I know I'm odd. But it's GOOD STUFF!

13. Listening to someone play the guitar and sing... (if they are good of course)

14. Reading a great book that you just cant put down!

15. Laying out by the pool with a good book and a good friend!

16. Getting together with friends and reminiscing about our crazy fun pasts!

17. Doing someone's hair and having them leave happier then when they came in.

18. Sleeping in with my husband by my side.

19. Playing Volleyball (sad that this has moved so far down my list...)

20. Playing Volleyball with CLOSE FRIENDS!

21. Laughing so hard that your stomach hurts. "If conversation were the lyrics, Laughing would be the music"

22. Staying up late and watching a movie in bed with my hubby.

23. Listening to church hymns on Sunday mornings.

Amberlee is getting married in 2 weeks and we are all so excited for her! We had a bridal shower for her last Wednesday over at Savanna's house. We had so much fun being together with everybody and catching up. Lovin' Summer

So this summer hasn't been as exciting as most of yours have been... alot of work and not enough play! I did get to lay out with Amberlee for the first time this summer over the weekend! It felt amazing... I miss going to St. George every other weekend to play in the sun with the girls! Matt and I got to hang out this weekend, it was nice not having to work for a day. We went out to Tucano's. It was very good, but I got oh so very sick! Too much good food for one sitting! Anyway, I hope that I get to squeeze in at least one more vacation before the summer comes to an end... Matt sold his car finally and is looking for a truck! He started working at Ruby River and he is enjoying it. On a sad note... I quit my job at the salon! :( I really didn't want to but I'm too busy right now and the salon is so slow it has just been a waste of time really. I will still be doing hair so no need to worry if you are one of my faithful clients. So if you want your hair done just call or text my cell phone! Welp, thats the update for now! Here are a couple pics!

Lake Powell!

It's official... I am no longer a Lake Powell virgin! I went for the first time last weekend! We went with Becky and Steve and Kim, Adam and her cute little girl Maddy. We had a such a fun time out on the Lake. It was super hot and if you weren't in the water you were dripping sweat but it was still perfect! We stayed in Page in a hotel which was nice, I was glad I got to go home and shower and the end of the day. We ate at some yummy restaurants and just enjoyed being in the sun! I just love going on vacation with my sweet hubby... we have such a good time. We were the youngest couple there and the only married ones. It was pretty sweet! :) Too bad all fun vacations have to come to an end and we have to go back to work... but I guess that's life! Until next time....

So Matt and I have been married now for a full MONTH! Can you believe it! I cant believe how fast time is flying by...

Being married is great! We have so much fun together at our little apartment.... haha it's such a cozy little place and it's easy to keep clean. In the last month we have just been working and trying to get everything we need into our place and just spending some good quality time together!

I have loved every minute of being married... Matt is so wonderful he cooks, and he even CLEANS! I feel so blessed and I cant wait to spend many more months to come with my handsome hubby! :)

Some Things Never Change!

We had a little get together a couple weeks ago and it was so fun to be with everyone, it's amazing how even though all of our lives are so different than they used to be we are still best friends! I love these girls more than anything... Here is a picture of us in our glory days.. and then here we are 3 years later, I'm getting married, Sarah is Prego, Lace Face and Ellie are about to pop in June and Shalie has a 3 month old, baby Steel! I hope that we can keep getting together like this for the rest of our lives! :)

Appendicitis.. No BUENO!ing

Poor Sean was in the hospital for a week because his appendix ruptured! They wouldn't let him leave until he passed gas! He is home and doing well now. I dont have any pictures but Mike went in to surgery on Tuesday and had his non-functioning gall bladder removed along with his appendix... so my poor mother has been spending alot of time over at the hospital these past couple weeks! Mike is also home and doing well and is preparing to leave to Russia in a month!

We had the funnest trip to Vegas/St. George this past weekend with our friends Rj and Kirsten! It was so much fun to get away from life and just relax in the sun! I mean it wasn't summer weather but we did lay out one of the days and I got hot! haha Then we came back to this yucky snow! So not fair! I'm so ready for summer! Best Valentine's Day EVER!!

Matt took me snowshoeing yesterday up provo canyon by Vivian Park, it was snowing pretty much all day which was fine, because it was seriously so beautiful up there! The hike up was sooooo HARD!! I felt so bad haha, I had to stop so many times to catch my breath.. at one point when we were almost to the point where we were supposed to be Matt turned around and asked me if I wanted to turn around! I laughed at him and said "Heck no!! We've come this far, might as well go the whole way!!"

Good thing I didn't want to turn around because what Matt had waiting for me at the top was AMAZING! Talk about romantic! So we get to this spot where this picnic table is all set up for a little picnic! I was so surprised... and confused! I kept asking Matt when the heck he did it! And then when I figured out that it was impossible that Matt could've done it I kept asking him WHO did it! But he wouldn't tell me! So anyway, we sit down and (p.s. it's still snowing..) we start eating these yummy sandwiches that Matt prepared for us. Then he pulls out this card for me. I open it up and there is a piece of paper inside.. but I read the card first! It was a Barbie card that said on the front "For a Special Girl, A Valentine Charm to wear!" Then on the inside there is a piece of yarn and this charm that you rip off the card to make a necklace and the inside read, "This pretty charm is just for you to sparkle up your day! It's coming with a lot of love and then this wish to say- Hope every hour the whole day long will be a happy one, Just filled with sweet surprises and some Valentine-y fun!" So then Matt made the necklace and tied it around my neck!

Then he had me read the piece of paper inside.. He was going to show me this really cute slide show that he made for me on the lap top, but it was just snowing to much he didn't want to get it too wet, so I watched it in the car on the way home. Anyway, the piece of paper had a little poem on it that read:

So then we start our way to the the little bridge to cross the river, we didn't put our snowshoes back on so we were literally waste deep in the snow. It was really funny. So as I'm searching for a sheltered tree.. I see two little birds hiding in the trees! Lexi and Brett had come up before us and set everything up and they took a video and pictures of the whole thing! They did a great job!!! So anyway, I make it to the tree and pick up the bag. Opened up the ring, and Matt got down on his knee and popped the question! I obviously said YES!! :) It was seriously the best proposal ever! Matt is AMAZING! I am so lucky.. and my ring is so pretty and I love it! :) Hope you enjoyed this novel haha!

At work yesterday the sweet little girl came into the salon with her mom and sister. Her name is Sydney but they call her Silly because her older sister cant say her d's.. haha so cute!

I just had to snap a photo with her because I instantly fell in love with that sweet face! I told her mom I might just have to take her home with me.. But I didn't! :( I will be adopting later on in life! That is for sure!

Matthew and I have been dating for almost 5 1/2 years now... And I love him more and more every day! This picture was taken before his mission... we were oh so very young! :) The last 8 months have been so much fun having him home! I'm so excited to have him here for Valentines day!

He has his last Chemo treatment this Friday the 6th. Then he starts radiation in a few weeks. I can't wait til he is feeling back to normal!

Things have been pretty good for him, the salon is going great and I'm finally getting more clients! My job at the Center is going well too, I just really hate having 2 jobs. Gotta do what ya gotta do! Thats pretty much all there is to update on for now!

Matt went in today for his 3rd treatment! This picture was actually taken at his 2nd one, but I thought I needed a picture for this post and this one would work just fine!

I really can't wait for all of this to be over and have Matt back to his normal healthy self! I'm amazed more and more each time at how strong and positive he is being through all this icky poop crap! Yes, thats what I call the cancer... So only one more treatment of Chemo and then a month of radiation. What a beautiful day that will be when he goes in for his last visit for radiation! I might be even more excited than he is! ok... maybe not..

Everyone has been so sweet with their thoughts and concerns for both of us, you guys are all wonderful! Keep Matt in your prayers... it will all be over soon enough! :)

Last night Matt and I went with Brett and Lex to go celebrate their one month anniversary! We all decided to go to P.F. Chang's! So Lex and Brett came and picked Matt and I up from my house. Well about 2 miles past the Provo Center Street exit Lexi's car starts to putter and completely breaks down, yes on the freeway! So we pull over and we all just sit there... we didn't really know what to do in this situation! So of course, I call up my mom... I tell her where we are at and she comes to find us, I also called Mikey because we needed another car so we could make it the rest of the way to P.F. Chang's! So while we are all

start taking pictures and documenting this evening of fun! haha. So while we wait for my mother and brother to arrive Lexi calls Geico! Matt was being so funny and saying that he was so scared! So anyway, my mom arrives and I get out of the car and jump into hers where it was nice and warm... Matt comes running to the car too, as Matt shuts the door, Lexi and Brett start pulling away. I was so confused! I guess after I got out of the car, Brett decided to try and start it one more time.. and what do you know.. It starts! haha So we follow them the rest of the way to theUniversity exit, and right as they get off the free way and are making the right hand turn the car breaks down again! Soooo we are now pulled over on the side of the road by McGraths Fish House... then Mikey pulls up behind my mom. So the boys decide that they are gonna push the car just up the street to the Texaco Gas station. I really wish I could have gotten a picture of Matt, Mike and Brett pushing this car, but I had to drive Mikey's car behind my mom. So I didn't really have a view of this event!

So we finally make it into the parking lot, and Lex is still on the phone with the Geico man trying to figure out what to

do about towing. They said they would pick it up there at the gas station, luckily Eric, the wendy's manager was there to keep an eye on the car until they got there! haha..

So we finally made it to our destination at about 8:30 pm. We left my house at 7:00 pm. At P.F Chang's we got seated right away... We were all so hungry and happy to be there. Unfortunately this story doesn't end here! We got the most TERRIBLE waiter.. He was so slow, and the place wasn't even busy! We didn't actually get out of there until 10:40 pm!! It was a joke!

All in all it was a pretty exciting night! We got to spend some good quality time with our bestest friends in the world

.. and we got some delicious food! I'm assuming Lexi's car was safely towed to Springville... at least we hope so! :)

I really can't believe how fast the last year went by! It was a pretty good year, Matt came home from his mission, Mom got hitched along with the rest of my friends. haha.. I graduated beauty school! I'm excited to start a new year especially now that Matt is here with me!

We had a lot of fun on New Years Eve, it was a little Snow College reunion! Poor matt was really sick from his second round of the chemo so he spent the whole night in on my bed. Poor thing, I felt so bad! He was so sweet to come though... We had a good time talking and catching up.

We got a little Guitar Hero in... Which is always the high light of MY night! :)

We played some Wacky Six... Shalie and Al finally got the hang of it! haha we also attempted to play 99, but everyone was too busy talking so we just decided to bag the game idea haha!

It was so good to see everyone, it felt just like old times! This needs to be a monthly routine. What do you think ladies!?

Well... It's sad but true, the festivities of Christmas have come to an end. :( I had a wonderful Christmas with my family and with Matt, it was so nice having him home for the holidays! I got some fabulous gifts and really just enjoyed having the day off and relaxing!

Well now that Christmas has come and gone... guess what time it is!! Yup.. You guessed it... It's PARTY TIME!! I just wanted to remind all you dear friends of mine, that we are holding our first annual New Years Eve party! So bring your significant other and come join in on the fun at MI CASA. The events will be held obviously on Wednesday Dec. 31, 2008 and the party will start at 8:00!!! Matt and I would love to have all of you there to celebrate the New Year with us.. If you cant come spend the whole night with us, we would love it if you just stopped by for a little bit too! Now we just want you each as a couple to bring one of your favorite treats and/or beverage (preferably non-alcoholic... we have a lot of prego friends!!) haha ;) and we thought it might be fun if each couple brought their favorite game to play with a big group of people!

We are going to have a lot of fun and I hope you can all make it!! There isn't a whole lot to update on but whatever right...

Matt has been doing really well, a little sick to his stomache here and there and some painful joint pain but for the most part he has been feeling fine. Well at least that's what he tells me! I know that he doesn't want to make a big deal of anything so I'm sure that he keeps somethings to himself, which is retarded but what can you do!? I'm so proud of him and the attitude he has had throught this all. I have seen many blessing come from this trial in our lives so I can honestly tell you now that I am grateful for the cancer.

Work has been going alright... I am slowly getting more clients. I love doing hair, but boy can building a clientelle get frustrating! I can see why alot of girls quit after beauty school.... But I can promise you I wil not be one of them! We started a new promotion at the salon so hopefully I'll start getting more clients here in the next couple weeks!

Everything else is going well, my family is great, the house is finally done being remodeled! It's about freaking time! It looks soooo good! Matt and I are planning a little New Years Eve get together and it will be nice to have all the room for people to visit! Speaking of this PARTY... We are going to start a new tradition! An anual couples New Years Eve party! This year it will be held at my home! So, if your reading this then you are obviously one of our dear friends and you and our spouse or significant other :) should come!! It will be alot of fun! Matt underwent his first round of Chemo on Friday. As you can see he made the best out of the experience! He's such a goof! I love it... part of the chemo is this medicine or I guess you could call it Poison... anyway they call it THE RED DEVIL! Well after they finished putting this through is IV he went to the bathroom. He said that his pee was Kool-Aid red! He thought he should probably document this moment by taking a picture of the face he made when he saw the bright red urine! hahaha...

He came out of the 6 hour treatment with a smile. He's doing fine so far, not to sick, just a little tired! We are interested to see how his body deals with all the poisons they have injected into his sweet little body.

It's official, they are hitched! Matt and I were able to go up and see them come out of the temple and then we went to the luncheon. Lexi looked BEAUTIFUL.. and Brett didn't look so bad himself! ;) They were so happy, both of them just glowing with excitement! Matt was pretty excited too as you can see! :) What a handsome man.. how did I get so lucky? The picture of Matt and I was taken on the way over to the luncheon which was so yummy! They had it at an Italian restaurant at the Gateway mall, I cant remember the name of it... Biaggi's maybe! The wedding video they put together was so so cute! They are such a cute couple! One more friend on the bandwagon, and Susan Kohler is joining it in 2 weeks. Matt and I might jump on in a few months! :) I will say that being at the temple and attending all of the wedding festivities had Matt and I pretty excited about getting married! Anyway, I'm so happy for Brett and Lexi and I love them both alot alot!!

Matt and I both have been blessed with such amazing friends in our lives. Matt's best friends all got together and decided to shave their heads in his behalf. Although we had a lot of fun in the process, I had a hard time fighting back tears. It wasn't a big deal to some, but it was a huge deal for others. We love you all so much and are so thankful to have such great people in our lives. After the head shaving party the boys all waited for Matt to arrive, he was quite surprised when they handed him a gift bag full of all of their locks. Then we all went out to dinner at Los Hermanos. It was a pretty exciting night, and a very unforgettable one. Oh and yes... they all have steps on the right sides of their heads. haha

Thanksgiving with the Lovelace's

This weekend was an absolutely fantastic vacation! We loaded up in a couple cars and drove the 8 hours to Apple Valley, CA to spend Thanksgiving with the Lovelace crew... we had so much fun visiting with everyone and of course it was so great to be with Matt all weekend. We had a wonderful turkey dinner that was prepared by Aunt Shelley mostly and a few other hands that jumped in to help! It was delicious!

On Saturday we got to drive down to the Beach. We went to Seal Beach first and walked around the little shops and walked down the peer and took lots of pictures. It was a beautiful day, not too cold, a little windy but the sun was shinning! After playing on Seal Beach we went to In and Out burger... mmm... Then we drove the 15 mins. over to Huntington Beach and did a little shopping there and watched the beautiful sunset!

It was so much fun just being with the people I love and relaxing! We played games and ate, ate and ate some more! Matt and I got to ride in the back seat with little Tyce and boy is he just a little ray of sunshine! He's so sweet and he has a giggle that will melt anyone's heart! I wish that I could put every single picture up on this blog because they are all so great, but here are just a few of my favorites! I had so much fun as you can see and I have the greatest soon to be inlaws! They are all so sweet! And I have the best boyfriend/best friend in the world! I really hate that we had to come home and that we have to go back to work tomorrow! But I guess there will be more vacations to come...

I'm so excited for Christmas and snow! Something about this time of year is just fabulous! Love is just in the air at Christmas time! And my favorite part... Christmas music!! Yay!!! Matt wouldn't even let me play it in the car until after thanksgiving! So you better believe that Friday morning, the first thing I did in the car was make a Christmas playlist on my ipod! :)

So it has been a while since I blogged last and I thought I would just give some updates... not that anyone really reads my blog.. haha anyway, I just started at a new salon called Naturally Yours in Spanish Fork. I really liked my old salon I was at, it was just too hard coming up with booth rent every month and I just needed a little bit more structure. So I've only worked there 2 days now but so far so good. I really like the girls that I have met so far and I hoping I'll start to build more of a client base here at this salon. Cross your finger! I'm also working part time at my mom's facility the Center for Change as a Care Tech. It's been good so far I guess... Having 2 jobs has been really quite frustrating, I didn't think it really would be but it is. When you want a day or weekend off you have to deal with covering 2 places rather than 1. And right now at the Center I don't really have a set shift so I am working as an on call tech, which means I have to go in whenever they call me on the days that I'm on call.. Sometimes they call, and sometimes they don't. I'm hoping that a set schedule will open up soon. That would make my life much easier.
Matt and I are doing fabulous. Gosh I love him! He is such an amazing guy. He has been thrown a serious curve ball this last week and he is handling it far better than I would! I lucked out and got my shifts covered at both jobs and I get to go to California with his family for Thanksgiving! I am super excited! That's pretty much it for now... I cant really think of anything else! So until next time I suppose! xoxo

Well I was going to make a slide show of the california trip but then I decided that making one of "The Adventures of Matt and Nikki" would be way more exciting! And I was right... It was! :)

I only have pictures from before his mission and then after on my computer right now. We have a ton of pictures from high school but I don't have a scanner... But oh well! This is plenty.

Good Ol' Californ-i-a!

Me and the fam just got home from Palm Springs on Sunday. It was a really long drive and the trip just wasn't long enough but we sure did have a blast... Everything from Crab Legs to Disneyland! I have a ton of pictures but since I'm a bit retarded with the whole blogging this still I'm not quite sure how to put a slide show together.. But I'll figure it out dont worry!

We stayed in a condo in Indio that was super sweet... (Thanks becky)... the first day we got there we just hung out at the condo and swam a little bit then we went to dinner at the Crab Pot... YUMMY! It was a ton of food though... we even got to wear sweet bibs! :)

We went to Disneyland the next day and it was just loads of fun! It's a little different when the youngest one is 15 but we still had fun... didn't we BRE! :) Bre and Ty were just so excited about disneyland, we told them we might not go and they both almost started crying! So we had to go... we didn't want to have to put up with the two grumps if we didn't! Now all of you that know me know that I dont usually do roller coasters! But I'll have you all know, I went on every single ride with the rest of the gang! I was pretty dang proud of myself! We also ate these massive corn dogs that were so dang good, but will probably haunt bre for the rest of her life!

For our final event we took a tram up to the top of some 8500 ft mountain. It was so amazing! I'm not much of a hiker but it was a lot of fun! I'll try to get all the pictures up as soon as possible.. If anyone has any advice for me on how I might go about making a slide show I would be happy to hear it! :)

Conference Weekend

Who doesn't love conference weekend?? Really... It's so nice to just be able to relax at home with family and listen to the wonderful talks... and sometimes sleep through the wonderful talks! :) I had a great weekend with Matty and and my family. My mom, Bre and I went to Red Robin while the boys were at Priesthood session. My mom is going to be so happy that I've posted this picture of her devouring her chocolate shake! haha

After we ate we went and visited with Celiece and the babies... Baby Nixon is just adorable and Parker has got quite the little personality. Matt may have a little bit of competition! ;) All in all it was a fabulous weekend! I love the fall weather that is starting to set in...

New room!

We finally finished the remodeling on the upstairs of our house, well the first half at least... Now they are working on the back.. but I got to move into my new room upstairs this last weekend. It's super cute and my closet is any girls dream closet! It was alot of work getting all the furniture in but after a few hours, a lot of laughs, and a few battle wounds we got it all in. Matt was in Vegas this weekend and we sure could have used his muscles but mom and I are pretty buff! So we handled it! haha...

Although I am super excited to be in my new room, I am really not too happy with all the noise and scary men that are working in my backyard right now. I dont have blinds on my window yet but dont worry, I hung up a sheet to do the trick for now. I cant wait til the house is done and we dont have strangers walking in and out of the front door! It will be nice to have some privacy back... Hopefully it will all be done soon! Cross your fingers!

5 years!! It was our anniversary on Saturday and Matt was so good to me! He came over in the morning when I woke up and made me breakfast, French Toast with fruit and eggs, bacon and sausage. Then he took me golfing... which was a blast! He won of course but we are both pretty equally bad! haha But we are going to be really good someday... it was only my 2nd time going.

Then that night he cooked me the yummiest New York steak ever... As you can see in the picture he had the table all set with flower pedals and candles. Then we watched a movie and he cooked me an amazing dessert... He sure is an amazing cook! Thank you Matt!

It was fun to finally be able to spend our "anniversary" together (it was our first date/kiss)... he hasn't been here for the last two! So it was alot of fun being together!

I played in what was supposed to be an all night doubles volleyball tourni... but apparently you have to keep winning to keep playing all night. My partner Christian and I made it to about 10 pm... haha We lost every game but we sure had a good time! At least we got a free T-shirt!! On June 26th my mom and Paul finally tied the knot! I got the most fun job of watching the kids in the waiting room at the temple. These kids just melt your heart! They are so sweet... we are so happy to have Paul a part of our family now.

Never thought the day would come... but it did... Matt finally came home from serving his mission in Canada and it has been fun having him back home! We are dating and just enjoying life together again. It still feels weird not writing him letters or sending him emails even though its been over a month since he's been home!

This was on the 4th of July waiting for the firework show outside of the Stadium of Fire... we were pretty bummed that we couldn't be inside to watch HANNAH MONTANNA!!! haha...
